SUMMARY:Research Seminar – Ali Aslan Gümüsay
DESCRIPTION:This Research Seminar was organized by the ERA Chair in Social Innovation and the Management & Organizations department. \n\n\n\nAli Aslan Gümüsay works within the fields of Organization\, Innovation\, Entrepreneurship and Sustainability as Professor at LMU Munich and Head of Research Group at the Humboldt Institute for Internet & Society. \n\n\n\nHis work has been published in journals such as Academy of Management Journal\, Academy of Management Perspectives\, Business & Society\, Innovation: Organization & Management\, Journal of Business Ethics\, Journal of Management Studies and Research Policy. \n\n\n\nTitle: Desirable Futures & Prospective Theorizing \n\n\n\nAbstract: With the looming planetary emergency\, the future will be anything but an extension of the past. Yet theorizing the future poses a peculiar problem. By definition\, it is not present yet. The conundrum of the future is that it requires conceptualizing and theorizing what is not (yet) observable and does not (yet) exist. How to then theorize (for) desirable futures? \n\n\n\nThe ERA Chair in Social Innovation at NOVA SBE has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under grant agreement No. 951735.
