DESCRIPTION:Gallery\, Nova School of Business and Economics  \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nLife Drawing workshop | Workshop de Desenho Vivo \n\n\n\nDuring the month of May the Art&Craft Refúgio collective captured the diversity of the neighborhood through the individual traces of each one. Between pencils and brushes\, they walked the streets\, gardens and squares drawing neighbors\, landscapes and animals. In this workshop the artists Alina Shpakova and Margarita Sharapova invite you to take a walk through the various points of the New Sbe campus and participate in this collection of collective looks through drawing. \n\n\n\nDurante o mês de Maio o coletivo Art&Craft Refúgio captou a diversidade do Bairro através dos traços individuais de cada um. Entre lápis e pincéis\, andaram pelas ruas\, jardins e praças a desenhar vizinhos\, paisagens e animais. \n\n\n\nNeste workshop as artistas Alina Shpakova e Margarita Sharapova convidam a um passeio pelos vários pontos do campus da Nova Sbe e participar nesta recolha de olhares coletivos através do desenho. \n\n\n\nIn this 2-hour workshop you will have the opportunity to learn the printmaking process and participate to the creation of postcards and notebooks. \n\n\n\nThis workshop was created in the context of Largo Refugio\, a project run by Largo Residencias. It will be led by a pair of instructors – an artist and a refugee. \n\n\n\nInstructors \n\n\n\nAlina Shpakova \n\n\n\nAlina Shpakova is a web designer and painter based in Lisbon. Has 3 years of experience in architecture and construction\, 7 years in web development and design. Started drawing 16 years ago\, gradually learning on her own\, 2 years ago started drawing every day. Organizes urban sketching meetings in Lisbon for english- and russian-speaking community\, makes drawing workshops and art projects. Uses sketching to bring together inspiration and impressions from the outside\, and abstract art to explore and convey inner experiences. \n\n\n\nAlina Shpakova é uma web designer e pintora baseada em Lisboa. Tem 3 anos de experiência em arquitectura e construção\, 7 anos em desenvolvimento e design web. Começou a desenhar há 16 anos\, gradualmente aprendendo sozinha\, há 2 anos começou a desenhar todos os dias. Organiza encontros de urban sketching em Lisboa para a comunidade de língua inglesa e russa\, faz workshops de desenho e projectos de arte. Utiliza o desenho para reunir inspiração e impressões do exterior\, e a arte abstracta para explorar e transmitir experiências interiores. \n\n\n\nMargarita Sharapova \n\n\n\nBorn in 1962 in Moscow\, Margarita Sharapova completed studies at the Film Institute and at the Literature Institute. After working as a shorthand typist\, she became an animal keeper and stage assistant for circus performances. Sharapova’s radio play Circus Train\, based on her work in a circus\, has been broadcast by the BBC. She has received a number of literary awards and is a member of the Moscow Union of Writers. \n\n\n\nAs a result of the oppression she had suffered from the authorities in Moscow\, in 2013 Sharapova sought political asylum in Portugal where she has been living since then. ” LGBT Literature has no future in Russia\,” she explains. In Portugal she continues her work as an artist\, painter\, and has participated in several performance projects in the area of theater. She develops urban sketch tours with Associação Renovar a Mouraria in the scope of the project “Mygrandtour”. She is a member of the collective Art&craft Refúgio. \n\n\n\nNascida em 1962 em Moscovo\, Margarita Sharapova completou estudos no Instituto do Cinema e no Instituto de Literatura. Depois de trabalhar como estenodactilógrafa\, tornou-se tratadora de animais e assistente de palco em espectáculos de circo. A peça de rádio de Sharapova\, baseada no seu trabalho num circo\, foi transmitida pela BBC. Como escritora\, recebeu vários prémios literários e é membro do Sindicato dos Escritores de Moscovo. Como resultado da opressão que sofreu por parte das autoridades em Moscovo\, em 2013 procura asilo político em Portugal\, onde vive desde então. “ A Literatura LGBT não tem futuro na Rússia”\, explica ela. Em Portugal continua o seu trabalho como artista\, pintora\, e participou em diversos projectos performativos na área do teatro. DESCRIPTION:Comic book workshop | Workshop de Banda Desenhada \n\n\n\nComics is a language. It is made up of text and images\, but it is not enough to put them side by side. It is necessary to learn how to speak a speciﬁc language\, comics precisely. In this short workshop we will go through the basics of this language\, through practical examples and details. An immersion in the world of storytelling and comics for anyone interested in exploring this fantastic expressive world. You are welcome! \n\n\n\nA banda desenhada é uma linguagem. É constituída por texto e imagens\, mas não é suﬁciente colocá-las lado a lado. É necessário aprender a falar uma língua especíﬁca\, precisamente a banda desenhada. Neste breve workshop exploramos os fundamentos desta língua através de exemplos práticos e detalhes. Uma imersão no mundo do storytelling e da banda desenhada para qualquer pessoa interessada em explorar este fantástico mundo expressivo. Seja bem-vindo! \n\n\n\nIn this 2-hour workshop you will have the opportunity to learn the printmaking process and participate to the creation of postcards and notebooks. \n\n\n\nThis workshop was created in the context of Largo Refugio\, a project run by Largo Residencias. It will be led by a pair of instructors – an artist and a refugee. \n\n\n\nInstructors \n\n\n\nNicola Lonzi \n\n\n\nBorn in Italy\, Florence (Tuscany)\, he has always cultivated research in drawing and painting. He graduated in Moral Philosophy in Italy\, with a research on the passions in Spinoza’s Ethics\, then he got a PhD (Florence\, 2008) in mixed disciplines: philosophy and computer science\, which led him to the study of computer science and later to teaching and working as a developer. He collaborated brieﬂy with the University of Paris Saint Denis in France (where I lived 4 years: 2013 – 2017). In France\, his passion for comics and his knowledge of the French-Belgian and international comics scene deﬁnitely matured. In 2017\, He left France and moved to Berlin\, where he lived until the end of 2021\, devoting himself mainly to drawing and comics. In parallel he always worked part of the year as a Frontend computer programmer. During the years in Berlin he did various exhibitions and started to sell his comics work\, mainly drawings and original boards from exhibitions and on commission. He has published for some Italian (irrequieto) and German (lcb) online magazines. He participated in many initiatives of the Berlin art scene (collective works\, drawings for ﬁlms and short ﬁlms\, exhibitions\, collaborations\, lifedrawing and comics marathons). He arrived in Lisbon in October 2021. He participated in the collective exhibition with Lisbon Drawing Club\, exhibiting and selling some works made during the Life Drawing sessions. He made a short comic story that will be published for the Cais magazine. Currently he is working on a personal comic book and several short stories. \n\n\n\nLicenciou-se em Filosoﬁa Moral em Itália\, com uma pesquisa sobre as paixões em Spinoza’s Ethics\, depois obteve um doutoramento (Florença\, 2008) em disciplinas mistas: ﬁlosoﬁa e informática\, o que o levou ao estudo da informática e mais tarde ao ensino e trabalho como desenvolvedor. Colaborou brevemente com a Universidade de Paris Saint Denis em França (onde vivi 4 anos: 2013 – 2017). Em França\, a sua paixão por banda desenhada e os seus conhecimentos da cena franco-belga e internacional de banda desenhada amadureceram deﬁnitivamente. Em 2017\, deixa a França e muda-se para Berlim\, onde viveu até ao ﬁnal de 2021\, dedicado principalmente ao desenho e à banda desenhada. Paralelamente\, trabalhou sempre parte do ano como programador informático de Frontend. Durante os anos em Berlim fez várias exposições e começou a vender os meus trabalhos de banda desenhada\, principalmente desenhos e quadros originais de exposições e em comissão. Publicou em algumas revistas online italianas (irrequieto) e alemãs (lcb). Participou em muitas iniciativas da cena artística berlinense (obras colectivas\, desenhos para ﬁlmes e curtas-metragens\, exposições\, colaborações\, lifedrawing e maratonas de banda desenhada). Chega a Lisboa em Outubro de 2021. Participou na exposição colectiva com o Lisbon Drawing Club\, expondo e vendendo algumas obras realizadas durante as sessões de Life Drawing. Fez uma pequena história em banda desenhada que será publicada para a revista Cais. Está de facto a trabalhar numa banda desenhada pessoal e em várias histórias curtas. \n\n\n\nUtku Yavasca \n\n\n\nUtku was born in 1990 in Canakkale\, Turkey. He has always been involved with art as he was raised in a house of painters. From an early age he became interested in comics\, cartoons and animation. His childhood was spent copying illustrations from books he owned or drawing his own stories. After graduating from the Fine Arts High School\, he entered Anadolu University’s Department of Cartoon & Animation . During his student life he had the opportunity to participate in different festivals and competitions and won various awards. \n\n\n\nOne of these awards allowed him to study at the New York Film Academy in 2011. Then\, after studying graphic arts for 1 year at the Krakow Fine Arts Academy\, he completed an internship in the gaming industry in Hamburg. Since 2014 he has worked on different projects in the comics\, illustration and animation industry. Currently he is living in Lisbon and continue to work as a freelancer. \n\n\n\nUtku nasceu em 1990 em Canakkale\, Turquia. Sempre se envolveu com arte pois foi criado em uma casa de pintores. Desde cedo se interessou por quadrinhos\, desenhos animados e animação. A sua infância foi passada copiando ilustrações de livros que possuía ou desenhando minhas próprias histórias. Depois de se formar na Escola Secundária de Belas Artes\, entrou no Departamento de Desenhos Animados e Animação da Universidade Anadolu. Durante a sua vida de estudante teve a oportunidade de participar em diversos festivais e concursos e ganhou vários prémios. Um desses prêmios permitiu-lhe estudar na New York Film Academy em 2011. Depois de estudar artes gráﬁcas por 1 ano na Krakow Fine Arts Academy\, completou um estágio na indústria de jogos em Hamburgo. DESCRIPTION:Reimagining the Landscape ( “Reimaginando a paisagem”) – Collage Workshop | Workshop de colagem \n\n\n\nExploring landscape through simple collage techniques\, you are invited to create an abstract landscape that reﬂects your own relationship to a signiﬁcant place/place. Using magazine images to explore color\, pattern\, composition and symbolism\, you will have access to many types of magazines and papers\, from vintage to modern. Born in UK\, she has been living in Portugal since 2014. Nina has exhibited her work internationally in galleries\, artist run project spaces\, festivals and museums. Her work is represented in public and private collections worldwide. She has extensive management experience as a grassroots community builder\, co-founding a community arts cafe and venue when she was just 23 years old. As an advocate for creativity as a foundation for development\, she facilitates workshops and talks within the visual arts\, working with international schools\, universities\, and independent art venues. She conceives her artistic practice as a shared journey\, co-creating projects and practical structures to improve our social and human experience. In 2020\, she co-produced the online platform SUPERSONIC\, providing cultural activities to the public while ﬁnancially supporting artists during the pandemic. \n\n\n\nArtista praticante proﬁssional com mais de oito anos de experiência a trabalhar nas artes visuais. Nascida no Reino Unido\, vive em Portugal desde 2014. Nina expôs o seu trabalho internacionalmente em galerias\, espaços de projectos de artistas\, festivais e museus. O seu trabalho está representado em colecções públicas e privadas em todo o mundo. Tem uma vasta experiência de gestão como construtora comunitária de base\, tendo sido co-fundadora de um café de artes comunitárias e de um local de encontro quando tinha apenas 23 anos de idade. Como defensora da criatividade como base para o desenvolvimento\, facilita workshops e palestras no âmbito das artes visuais\, trabalhando com escolas internacionais\, universidades\, e locais de arte independentes. Concebe a sua prática artística como uma viagem partilhada\, co-criando projectos e estruturas práticas para melhorar a nossa experiência social e humana. SUMMARY:Workshop - Early Ideation: From Problem Framing to Impact Assessment​
DESCRIPTION:Nova SBE Haddad Entrepreneurship Institute \n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\nOffered by the DESIS Lab @ Nova SBE and the ERA Chair in Social Innovation in partnership with Haddad Institute in Entrepreneurship. ​ \n\n\n\nWe were thrilled to kick off with the academic year with a design thinking workshop led by Karine Sarkissian\, a designer and social innovator. Karine was the Fall 2022 Social Innovator in Residence invited by the ERA Chair in Social Innovation. The workshop covered three main themes: Problem framing\, Mission Statement and Value Chain Mapping. It was an interactive workshop that gave participants the tools necessary to generate and start developing an idea that has a potential to create impact.​ \n\n\n\n​

She is a member of the collective Art&craft Refúgio. \n\n\n\nNascida em 1962 em Moscovo\, Margarita Sharapova completou estudos no Instituto do Cinema e no Instituto de Literatura. Depois de trabalhar como estenodactilógrafa\, tornou-se tratadora de animais e assistente de palco em espectáculos de circo. A peça de rádio de Sharapova\, baseada no seu trabalho num circo\, foi transmitida pela BBC. Como escritora\, recebeu vários prémios literários e é membro do Sindicato dos Escritores de Moscovo. Como resultado da opressão que sofreu por parte das autoridades em Moscovo\, em 2013 procura asilo político em Portugal\, onde vive desde então. “ A Literatura LGBT não tem futuro na Rússia”\, explica ela. Em Portugal continua o seu trabalho como artista\, pintora\, e participou em diversos projectos performativos na área do teatro. Desenvolve urban sketch tours com a Associação Renovar a Mouraria no âmbito do projeto “Mygrandtour”. É membro do coletivo Art&craft Refúgio. \n\n\n\nSeptember 17\, 2022 – 10am – 11:30am \n\n\n\nGallery – Nova SBE Campus\, Carcavelos \n\n\n\nOpen to all visitors from Oeiras\, Carcavelos\, Cascais\, and Lisbon – children and adults\, as well as to the Nova SBE community (students\, staff and professors). \n\n\n\nNo previous experience required. \n\n\n\nLanguage: English and Portuguese \n\n\n\nThe workshop is sponsored by the ERA chair in Social Innovation and therefore free for participants. \n\n\n\nHowever\, additional donations are welcome to support further the instructors. \n\n\n\nRegistration is required. \n\n\n\nThis workshop is part of Nova Vista. \n\n\n\nNOVA Vista is a program created by the DESIS Lab @ Nova SBE and the ERA Chair in Social Innovation. It promotes community engagement through art and design with a focus on social impact and sustainable development. Our first edition in partnership with Largo Residencias will take place in September 2022 at Nova SBE.
